Maidstone Open Finals

Ace Performances Served Up at Maidstone Open Finals Day

The conclusion of Kent’s oldest Winter tennis tournament - the 2023 Maidstone Open took place last weekend. The tournament which has been played for over 40 years is a welcome opportunity for the talented tennis players of Kent to test themselves during the Winter months. This year's tournament was no exception, with culmination of the finals being played at Freedom Leisure, Maidstone.

Tournament director, Graham Hunt, was delighted the record number of entries received this year, reflecting the surge of interest in playing tennis in the UK, particularly welcome after the challenges posed by the pandemic.

The Finals Day saw 20 finals in singles and doubles categories, and the day got underway with the first matches starting at 9 am. Throughout the day, a large audience of spectators enjoyed a high standard of tennis with some hard fought and close matches.

Special mentions go to Paul Hydes, Chloe Taylor, Tracey Constant, Alessia Cuomo who won multiple titles.

The event was a resounding success, and the organisers are already looking forward to next year's tournament, which they hope will be even bigger and better than ever before.
